We’re expanding our team of Diesel Technicians at our shop in Channahon, IL! In this role, you will perform repairs and preventative maintenance on fleet equipment (semi-trucks & trailers), as well as DOT equipment inspections. You’ll need a safety-first mindset, strong organizational skills, and ideally a Diesel Tech degree or 1+ years of experience as a diesel or heavy-duty trailer technician. We need working equipment ready to go at all times, so this role is critical to Nussbaum’s success! Your duties include:

  • Preventative maintenance on semi-trucks & trailers.
  • Diagnose and repair fleet equipment.
  • Complete repairs following DOT requirements.
  • Perform all inspections, including state and federally-mandated safety inspections.
  • Perform system repairs, including air & hydraulics, tires, suspension, electrical, etc.
  • Follow safe work practices.
  • Maintain an organized and clean work area.

Schedule 

  • Full-time position; hiring for 1st shift.
    • A) Sunday – Tuesday, + every other Wednesday: 12-hour shifts, alternating 3/4 days per week.
    • B) Thursday – Saturday, + every other Wednesday: 12-hour shifts, alternating 3/4 days per week.
  • Shift availability based on company needs at the time of hire.
  • Location: 24125 West Riverside Drive, Channahon, IL, 60410.

Compensation, Benefits, & Perks

  • Pay range: $18 – $40 per hour, depending on skills and experience.
    • Trainees start at $18 per hour.

Qualifications (Preferred but not required)

  • Diesel Technician Degree OR 1+ years of experience as a diesel/heavy-duty trailer technician.
  • Brake and DOT Certifications.
  • Welding certificate or 6 months of experience.
  • Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (Monthly Incentive).
  • Basic toolkit and toolbox.
