Now, for those job details:

We’re expanding our team of Diesel Technicians at our shop in Channahon, IL. In this role, you will perform repairs and preventative maintenance on fleet equipment (semi-trucks & trailers), as well as DOT equipment inspections. You’ll need a safety-first mindset, strong organizational skills, and ideally a Diesel Tech degree or a year+ experience as a diesel/heavy-duty trailer mechanic. We need working equipment ready to go at all times, so this role is critical to Nussbaum’s success! Your duties include:

• Preventative maintenance on semi-trucks & trailers.
• Diagnose and repair fleet equipment.
• Perform all inspections, including State and Federal mandated safety inspections.
• Complete repairs following DOT requirements.
• Perform system repairs, including air & hydraulic systems, tires, suspension, electrical, etc.
• Maintain proficiency in the diagnosis and repair of all assigned tractor/trailer equipment.
• Follow safe work practices.
• Maintain an organized and clean work area.

Schedule 

• Full-Time position – 1^st shift (Shift based on current shop needs)
• 12-hour shifts with a 3 and 4 day split
  • Sunday through Tuesday or Thursday through Saturday every week
  • Wednesday every other week
  • 6:00AM – 6:00PM

Compensation, Benefits, & Perks

• Pay range: $23 – $45 per hour, depending on skills and experience.
