As an Account Manager, you are responsible for 2-6 customer accounts and the 15-25 drivers who service them. You serve as the direct point of contact for both customer and driver, with an emphasis on building relationships and timely communication. This role requires a significant amount of independent work as you engage your accounts, but you also function within the broader account management team. There will be scenarios where your freight/drivers intersect with others; therefore, teamwork and strong internal relationships are essential. Your objective is to ensure the highest levels of service quality (for customers) and job satisfaction/retention (for drivers). Responsibilities include:
- Customer-facing
- Providing customers with routine load updates.
- Accepting/building loads and communicating the information to relevant parties.
- Engaging customers on a regular basis to ensure we are fulfilling service expectations and they are fulfilling freight volume/driver productivity expectations.
- âHousekeepingâ duties associated with account management.
- Driver-facing
- Coordinating back-up coverage when drivers are off.
- Entering authorizations to ensure driver pay accuracy.
- Ensuring drivers stay current on truck maintenance.
- Effective communication with our after-hours team.
- Engaging drivers in growth opportunities (success plans, Certified RED).
- Coaching and discipline for HOS management and missed service expectations.
Schedule
- Full time: Monday-Friday, 7am â 4:30pm.
- Location: Corporate Offices â 19336 N 1425 East Rd., Hudson IL.
- Remote work: 2 days/month
