As an After-Hours Operations Coordinator, you’ll serve as the drivers’ primary contact during night and weekend shifts, providing information, coaching, and accountability. Your primary objective is to help drivers work through a variety of questions and problems that arise after-hours, thus ensuring job satisfaction and retention. Responsibilities include:

  • Prompt and excellent phone coverage: answering questions on load schedules, load information, directions, help with fuel stops, parking locations, etc.
  • Cross-department communication: working with operations, the shop, HR/Safety, etc.
  • Coach drivers on safety, efficiency, etc.
  • Hold drivers accountable for on-time arrivals and Hours-of-Service regulations (HOS)
  • Report driver challenges and frustrations to the proper manager for review
  • Administrative reporting (GPS coordinates, equipment gaps, TotalMail, etc..)
  • Accident reporting as well as post accident logistics and testing.
  • Track and trace of our high service level dedicated freight.

Schedule

  • Full time:
    • Sunday 1pm – 11pm
    • Monday and Tuesday 3pm – 11pm
    • Saturday 8am – 8pm
  • Approximately 8-12 times a year the Sat/Sun schedule will shift to 1800-0600 but still no more than 44 hours worked per calendar week
  • Location: This position has the flexibility to be fully remote (minus the initial training period and an occasion visit to our main office for further training)

Experience & Qualifications

  • Computer savviness – Outlook, Typing, Word, etc…
  • A desire to be accommodating and empathetic when working with others.
  • A basic knowledge of trucks and trailers and their basic mechanical functions.
  • An understanding of DOT regulations is a plus.
  • Previous driving and or dispatch experience is a plus.
