HUDSON, IL – Clark Reed, Professional Driver and Trainer for Nussbaum Transportation, has been named a 2024 Professional Driver of the Year by the Truckload Carriers Association. TCA announced the award on March 26, 2024, at their annual Truckload Convention in Nashville, Tennessee.
According to TCA, this award recognizes “those exceptional drivers who have made a significant impact over the past year on the industry, their driver colleagues, their community, and the company that employs them. TCA nominees should also have superior safety records, be strong role models, and have inspiring stories that have made a difference in their lives and the truckload industry.”
As an industry influencer, Clark is a tireless advocate for safety, fuel efficiency, and other key driver issues. He has appeared in numerous industry publications, podcasts, and interviews, including a discussion with U.S. Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm in 2021. In addition, he regularly contributes to Team Run Smart’s online hub of educational videos. At Nussbaum, Clark played an integral role in developing their proprietary Driver Scorecard which incentivizes good driving habits rather than MPG targets. He has also trained and mentored new drivers in his roles as Road Captain and Trainer.
Along with Clark, four other drivers were selected for the Driver of the Year award. Each received a $20,000 cash prize. Congratulations to the winners!
