HUDSON, IL—Nussbaum Transportation Services, Inc. has received the 2024 TCA Fleet Safety Awards Grand Prize (large carrier division) from the Truckload Carriers Association. TCA announced the award on March 18, 2025, at their annual convention in Phoenix, Arizona.
The Grand Prize represents the foremost safety award in the truckload industry, recognizing Nussbaum’s exceptional safety programs and leading accident frequency ratios. TCA selected Nussbaum as one of eighteen finalists in January 2025; finalists were then invited to “submit further documentation about their overall safety programs, both on and off the highway, to be eligible for the Grand Prize.” The documentation included areas such as:
• Safety team structure
• Initiatives and programs for engaging drivers
• Safety tools and technologies
• Systems for measuring success in safety
• Driver selection procedures and orientation programs
• Driver training and development programs
• Accident investigation and prevention
• Equipment maintenance and inspection standards
• How the company promotes safety to its employees, community, & industry
According to TCA, “After review by a diverse industry panel of judges, the winning companies were deemed to have best demonstrated their commitment to improving safety on North America’s highways.”
